Four new members were elected to the Samford University Board of Trustees during the fall meeting of the board Tuesday (Dec. 3).

They are: David R. Belcher, president and owner, Royal Automotive, Inc., Birmingham; Michael P. Dunn, managing director, Merchant Capital, Montgomery; C. Thomas Houser, president, MEVATEC Corporation, Huntsville; and Charles W. Lancaster, president, Lancaster Management, Inc., Gadsden.

James Stivender of Gadsden was elected chairman of the 47-member board. Other officers are William J. Stevens of Birmingham, vice chairman; D. Warren Bailey, Hoover, secretary; and Dr. G. Truett Guffin, Gardendale, assistant secretary.

Longtime trustees Dr. J. Carey Gwin of Jasper and Wallace D. Malone Jr., of Birmingham were elected Life Trustees.
