The annual Samford University Communications Workshop for high school students will be held Thursday, Sept. 14.
The day-long program is sponsored by Samford's Department of Journalism and Mass Communication and the Alabama Press Association Journalism Foundation.
At 8:30 a.m., a panel of professionals will discuss careers in advertising/public relations, television, magazine and newspaper.
Panelists are Joan Perry, vice president, Perry Harper & Perry Advertising; Fran Curry, anchor/news reporter, WVTM TV; Dru Harris, internship coordinator, Southern Progress Corp; and Felicia Mason, executive director, Alabama Press Association.
Throughout the day, sessions will be led by top area professionals in various fields of communications. Topics include basic and advanced newspaper, magazine, photojournalism and broadcasting.
