ABC News religion correspondent Peggy Wehmeyer will speak at the spring luncheon meeting of the Samford University Auxiliary on Friday, May 11, at 11:30 a.m. at The Club. Her topic will be "Is there room for God in network news?"
Wehmeyer became the first correspondent to report for a network on religious and spiritual issues. Based in the ABC News Dallas bureau, Ms. Wehmeyer reports for "World News Tonight with Peter Jennings" and "20/20." She formerly covered religious and social issues for WFAA-TV, the ABC station in Dallas. She was also director of public information at Dallas Theological Seminary.
She will address Samford journalism students as part of their Media Day activities earlier that day at 9:30 a.m. in Brock Forum, Dwight Beeson Hall, at Samford.
