Apologetical scholar Dr. William Lane Craig will present the Dotson M. Nelson, Jr. Lectures on Religion and Life at Samford University Oct. 9, 10 and 11 in Reid Chapel. Lecture times are 10 a.m. on Tuesday and Thursday and 9:15 a.m. on Wednesday. The public is invited.

Craig, research professor at Talbot School of Theology, Biola University, La Mirada, Calif., has extensively researched the historicity of Jesus' resurrection.

He has engaged in debates with atheistic and agnostic scholars on such issues as the existence of God, the resurrection of Jesus, morality and hell.

Craig has written more than a dozen books, including Reasonable Faith and Assessing the New Testament Evidence for the Historicity of the Resurrection of Jesus. He holds a doctor's degree in philosophy from the University of Birmingham, England, and a doctor's degree in theology from the University of Munich.

The annual lecture series honors the late Dr. Nelson, who was a longtime pastor of Mountain Brook Baptist Church.
