School of the Arts faculty members Richard Dendy and Scott Fisk have been accepted into the prestigious Milton Glaser School of Visual Arts Summer Program in New York City July 30-Aug. 3. The highly selective program received over 200 applicants and accepted only 35 to participate.
The Visual Arts professors will have the opportunity to study with world-renowned artist and designer Milton Glaser, among the most celebrated graphic designers in the United States. In 2004 Glaser was selected for the lifetime achievement award of the Cooper Hewitt National Design Museum. He opened Milton Glaser, Inc. in 1974, and continues to produce an astounding amount of work in many fields of design to this day. To many, he is the embodiment of American graphic design during the latter half of the 20th century. His "I Love NY" design, used since the 1970s, has achieved iconic status and inspired many imitations.
