Graduates of Samford University's Ida V. Moffett School of Nursing and its predecessor, Birmingham Baptist Hospital School of Nursing, are invited to an Alumni Appreciation Tea Sunday, May 6, 2-4 p.m., in the Dwight and Lucille Beeson Center for the Healing Arts Rotunda at Samford.
The event is planned in recognition of National Nurses Week and the 85th anniversary of the school.
More than 5,000 nurses have graduated from the school, now in its ninth decade. The school was established as a diploma program at Birmingham Baptist Hospital in 1922, was renamed Ida V. Moffett School of Nursing in 1968, and became a part of Samford in 1973. The school now offers bachelor's and master's degrees in nursing.
Alumni are encouraged to RSVP by calling (205) 726-2517 or emailing Marian Carter at firstname.lastname@example.org by April 27. Please include the number of guests who will attend.
