Six teams composed of Samford graduate students, undergraduate students, and recent Samford graduates competed in the final round of the Regions New Venture Challenge Tuesday, April 19, through Samford's Brock School of Business. Participants created a business plan and presented the plan to a panel of judges. Regions Bank provided a total of $20,000 to be distributed to the finalists to help start their proposed businesses.
The competition consisted of two divisions. The BUSA 100 Division was open to students enrolled in the school’s BUSA 100, World of Business, course during the spring 2011 semester. The Open Division was open to teams consisting of at least 50 percent currently enrolled undergraduate or graduate Samford University students or recent alumni.
