Lolley to Present Inaugural Auchmuty Lecture at Samford

Longtime Baptist leader Dr. Randall Lolley will deliver the inaugural James A. Auchmuty Lecture at Samford University Tuesday, Feb. 7. The public is invited to the 10 a.m. program in Reid Chapel.

His topic will be "On Failing An Unexam: Leaders Being Led by Values."

Lolley, a Samford graduate and former alumnus of the year, was president of Southeastern Baptist Theological Seminary from 1974 until 1988 and was pastor of First Baptist Church, Greensboro, N.C., until retirement in 1996. He also served North Carolina Baptist churches in Winston-Salem and Raleigh. He is a former moderator of the North Carolina chapter of the Cooperative Baptist Fellowship.

The lecture is a presentation of Samford's James A. Auchmuty, Jr., Congregational Leadership Fund. Dr. Auchmuty was pastor of Birmingham's Shades Crest Baptist Church for 27 years.
