Randall O'Brien to Speak at Samford September 6

Dr. Randall O'Brien, interim provost and vice president for academic affairs at Baylor University, will speak at Samford University Tuesday, Sept. 6, at 10 a.m. in Reid Chapel. The public is invited free of charge.

The popular storyteller and author is presented as this year's speaker in the Dotson M. Nelson Lectures on Religion in Life lecture series.

O'Brien is the author of Mosaic Messiah, Who is Jesus? and Set Free by Forgiveness: The Way to Peace and Healing. 

A longtime chair of the religion department at Baylor, O'Brien was named Baylor's interim top academic officer in June. He holds degrees from Yale Divinity School and New Orleans Baptist Theological Seminary.

"Does Forgiveness Make Sense?" will be the topic of his Samford talk.
