Posted by William Nunnelley on 2001-03-08

Samford University historian Jonathan Bass will discuss and present readings from his new book, Blessed Are the Peacemakers, Thursday, March 8, at the Samford Library.

The 5 p.m. program in Davis Library Room 235 is open to the public free as part of the Live at the Library series.

The book, published by Louisiana State University Press, examines the use and impact of civil rights leader Martin Luther King, Jr.'s Letter from Birmingham Jail as well as the backgrounds and reactions of the eight white ministers to whom it was written.

Bass will also be available to sign copies of the book. Live at the Library is sponsored by Friends of the Samford University Library.
