Samford 2012 Homecoming Court Named
Samford University's 2012 homecoming court members have been chosen by vote of their respective classes and will participate in various activities during Homecoming weekend October 12 -13.
Court members include: freshmen Greta Mosteller, an education major from Saint Johns, Fla., and Brooks Hanrahan, a church music major from Hoover, Ala.; sophomores Rachel Stanback, a journalism and mass communication major from Columbus, Miss., and Trey Ingram, a biology major from Montgomery, Ala.; and juniors Mary Elizabeth Butts, a biochemistry major from Belden, Miss., and Jeffrey Ferrell, a biology major from Jacksonville, Fla.
Senior class representatives are Leah Clements, a religion major from Huntsville, Ala.; Abby Sander, a Spanish major from Jacksonville, Fla.; Sarah Waller, a journalism and mass communication major from Gainesville, Ga.; Cameron Collins, a business major from Cornelius, N.C.; Tim Foote, a religion major from Mount Juliet, Tenn.; and David Reece, a finance major from Clarksville, Tenn.
The homecoming queen and king will be chosen from the senior class members on the court. The winners will be announced at halftime of the Samford football game against Appalachian State on Saturday. Kickoff is 2 p.m. in Seibert Stadium.
The court will also be introduced at a pep rally and bonfire near the stadium at 8 p.m. on Friday, and will ride in the on-campus parade at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday. This year's parade grand marshals are members of Samford's 2011 and 2012 women's basketball teams and coach Mike Morris. The teams claimed back-to-back Southern Conference championships.
