Samford AKA Chapter Hosts Motivational Speakers Nov. 18

The Samford University chapter of Alpha Kappa Alpha sorority will sponsor a talk by author and motivational speaker A. Faye Boykin and her husband, Eric Calhoun, Tuesday, Nov. 18, at 6:30 p .m. in Reid Chapel. The public is invited free of charge.

Boykin is the author of five books, including Help a Sister Out/Help a Brother Out! Can We Possibly Meet in the Middle?, co-written with her husband.

Their talk at Samford will focus on relationships, diversity and unity. Following the talk, there will be a showing of writer/director Tyler Perry's movie, "Why Did I Get Married?"

The evening is part of the Samford AKA chapter's Pretty in Pink Week. Other events include a praise and worship service on Wednesday and a "slide party" on Thursday.

Malika Moore, a junior psychology major from Birmingham, is chapter president.
