Samford Summer Classes Begin Monday, June 5
Samford University will begin the first term of summer classes Monday, June 5. About 1,126 graduate and undergraduate students are expected to enroll.
The university will host numerous camps and conferences throughout the summer, including sports, music and theatre camps for children, and a forensics institute for high school debaters. Genealogists from throughout the nation will attend the annual Institute for Genealogy and Historical Research June 6-11.
Other June events include three orientation sessions for students enrolling next fall, and Alabama Governor's School for high school students. Samford will host the Miss Alabama pageant June 4-10.
The National Youth Bible Drill and Speakers Tournament, sponsored by the Alabama Baptist Convention's State Board of Missions, will be held in Reid Chapel on Friday, June 9. Representatives of 13 state Baptist conventions will compete.
The Samford After Sundown community course program will offer a variety of personal enrichment classes this summer.
