| Despite an early morning chill and the
pressures of the last day of final exams, the Samford family turned out
in great support of the Samford work day for the special Habitat for
Humanity “Home for the Holidays” project. The work day included siding
and trim, painting, installing cabinets and doors, cleaning bathroom
fixtures and windows, erecting a storage unit and other projects. Samford's campus dining services, led by Laverne Farmer and Ken
Daniels, provided complimentary box lunches for the Samford
volunteers. Student volunteers included Jane Brock, a freshman
from Huntsville, Ala., Aaron Little , a junior from
Chattanooga, Tenn., and Kimberly Tompkins, a freshman
from Vestavia Hills, Ala. Employee volunteers who served all day were Scott Camp,
University Relations; Larry Davenport, biology; Sean
Flynt, University Relations; Sharron Schlosser,
nursing; and Philip Poole, University Relations. Other volunteers who worked during the day included Angela Ansah,
