Alumni Update: Shull Wins Emmy Awards

Jared Shull and Chris TomberlinSamford Journalism and Mass Communication alumnus Jared Shull `99, a film editor with Outpost Pictures, received two regional Emmy Awards in the National Academy of Arts & Sciences (NATAS) Southeast Chapter 2008 competition June 21. Both awards were for the documentary film Mr. Dial Has Something To Say, which premiered on Alabama Public Television in October, 2007.

Shull shared the Emmy Award for outstanding achievement in the Documentary category with producer and director Celia Carey, production manager J. Whitson and director of photography Christopher Holmes. Shull shared the program editing Emmy Award with Carey and fellow editor and Outpost Pictures founder Chris Tomberlin.

Shull  (at right in accompanying photo with Tomberlin) lives in Birmingham with his wife, Mohana, and two sons, Nate and Isaiah, and is employed by Outpost Pictures.
