Samford will host the first ever Southern Conference FanFest on Tuesday, August 12, 2008, offering free food and drink, music, prizes, and kid-friendly fun and games for the whole family to enjoy.
“The Fan Fest is a great chance for us to have Samford alumni on campus to kick off the season and visit with friends.” said David Goodwin, Director of Alumni and Parents Programs.
Samford hopes alumni from other Southern Conference schools will join in on the festivities. “We want fans and supporters of the schools we’ll be playing to feel good about visiting campus and the great facilities we have,” Goodwin said.
The SoCon FanFest will be held on Samford’s baseball field from 5:30 p.m. to 8 p.m. For more information, contact David Goodwin at firstname.lastname@example.org or (205) 726-2807.
Samford football coach Pat Sullivan will speak at a free breakfast hosted by Samford’s Brock School of Business from 7-8:30 a.m. August 20 at The Harbert Center in Birmingham (2019 4th Ave. N.).
Coach Sullivan will speak about about Samford's entry into the Southern Conference and what it means for Samford Football.
Door prizes will include football season passes, games tickets, a football autographed by 1971 Heisman Trophy-winner Sullivan and other items.
The event is free-of-charge but reservations are required. To make reservations, call (205) 726-2364.
