When the Samford Bulldogs open their 2008 football season on Thursday, August 28, they hope to see Seibert Stadium packed with students, alumni and fans from the surrounding communities. This will be Samford’s first year in the Southern Conference, and the university wants to make a grand entrance.
To help make this happen, the university recently launched a marketing campaign that reflects the excitement and energy of the upcoming season.
The campaign’s goals include significantly increasing ticket sales and awareness of Samford University Athletics.
The "Higher Level. Same Low Price. campaign began with a direct mail package for alumni and other friends of the university.
In addition to a game schedule magnet, the package includes a guide to the available football ticket options. Samford chose not to increase ticket prices this year as added incentive for fan support.
Billboards off-campus and banners and electronic signage on campus will extend the campaign throughout the community.
Tailgate parties, FunZone activities for children and a new “Bulldog Club” also promise to make every football game an event for the entire family.
