Children's book, Halloween Night: Twenty-One Spooktacular Poems, by Charles GhignaAs part of this year’s Homecoming festivities, Samford University Library is proud to present Mr. Charles Ghigna, a.k.a. “Father Goose.”  Mr. Ghigna will be our featured speaker for Live at the Library on Saturday, October 21 at 9:30 a.m. in room 235 of the library.  The presentation, “Poems and Pranks of Father Goose,” is open to all ages.

Ghigna is the author of more than 30 books for children and adults, including Animal Tracks: Wild Poems to Read Aloud and Halloween Night: Twenty-One Spooktacular Poems.  He is the recipient of the Parents’ Choice Book Award, SEBA Book Award, the Helen Keller Literary Award, and the Alabama Library Association Book Award.

Teachers, students, parents and librarians have raved about Mr. Ghigna’s “open and friendly style of engaging the children and adult listeners in whatever poetry he is presenting.”  This event is certain to be wonderfully entertaining for the whole family.
