"... The popular Grammy-nominated band includes former Samford students Karen Fairchild and Kimberly Roads..."
Little Big Town will perform at Samford University Saturday, Oct. 20, as part of Homecoming weekend activities. The public is invited.
The country music group will perform at 8:30 p.m. in Pete Hanna Center. The popular Grammy-nominated band includes former Samford students Karen Fairchild and Kimberly Roads, as well as Phillip Sweet and Jimi Westbrook, who hails from Sumiton.
Regular performers on Country Music Television, the band recently completed a five-month, 30-concert tour with Martina McBride.
In August, the list of nominees for this year's Country Music Association Awards included LBT in the running for the Horizon and Vocal Group of the Year honors. The awards show will be telecast on Nov. 7 on ABC.
Their CD, The Road to Here, earned the group numerous accolades in 2006, as did the song, "Boondocks."
Their Samford performance will be the first concert presented in the new multi-purpose Hanna Center. Reserved chair-back seats in the lower bowl are $25. General admission seats in the upper bleachers are $15.
