Samford OperaWorks will present the comic opera Die Fledermaus as its fall production Nov. 15-18 in Harrison Theatre.
Samford University music professor Dr. Bill Bugg directs the cast of student actors in the operetta by composer Johann Strauss. One of the most often-performed operas, the comic farce is a candid look at human nature.
Lead roles are performed by Caitlin Huie and Samantha Chambers, who alternate performances as Rosalinda; Lydia Myers and Haley Longino, who play Adele; and Bob Becklean as Gabriel Eisenstein.
The cast also includes Ryan Ford as Alfred, Ragan Deal as Blind, Daniel Banke as Dr. Falke, Jeffery Caulk and Timothy Eachus as Frank, Britta Lindborg and Sadie Frazier as Sally, Alan Taylor as Frosch and Jenny Wiggins and Lindsey Denton as Prince Orlofsky.
Performers also include an 11-member chorus and an accompanying orchestra.
Performances are at 7:30 p.m. on Nov. 15, 16 and 17, and 2:30 p.m. on Nov. 18. Admission is $10 adults, $8 senior adults and $6 students/children. For information, call (205) 726-2853.
