Country Star Brad Paisley Will Headline Homecoming Concert

“…Make plans now to join fellow alumni and friends as we celebrate Samford’s 138th Homecoming the weekend of Oct. 29-3l…”

Brad Paisley, the Academy of Country Music’s Best New Male Vocalist of 2000, will appear in concert Saturday, Oct. 30, at 8 p.m. in Wright Center Concert Hall. Tickets are for sale at Samford Hall, room 310, (205) 726-2807.

"Paisley is incredibly popular with students as well as music fans all over the world, and we’re thrilled to be able to schedule him for Homecoming,” said Samford Alumni Relations Officer Billy Ivey '96. “He'll put on a great show.”

Paisley made his mark with the 1999 single, “He Didn’t Have to Be,” which helped his debut album, Who Needs Pictures, sell more than a million copies. He recorded another No. 1 hit, “I’m Gonna Miss Her (The Fishing Song),” as part of his 2002 album, Part II. A Grand Ole Opry member since 2001, he released his third album, Mud on the Tires, in 2003. It features the hit, “Celebrity,” which pokes fun at fame and reality shows.

Make plans now to join fellow alumni and friends as we celebrate Samford's 138th Homecoming the weekend of Oct. 29-31, featuring the Brad Paisley concert, reunions for class years ending in "4" and "9," our annual Alumni Banquet with Alumni of the Year recognitions, a football game against Tennessee Tech, Sunday worship and brunch, and much more.
