Samford Recognizes Bowden Achievements

Samford held Bobby Bowden Day May 2, saluting its famous alum and former football coach for his distinguished career and his 1999 national championship at Florida State University. Bowden '53 addressed a standing room only crowd in Reid Chapel which included two of his sons, former Samford religion professor Steve Bowden (left foreground) and former Samford football coach Terry Bowden. The coach also signed autographs for students and met with media.
