Unclaimed Bargains
Unclaimed Baggage Center in Scottsboro, Ala., is the nation's only store for selling unclaimed baggage, a business that has captured the imagination-and money-of shoppers worldwide. Former Samford student body president Bryan Owens '81, who owns the business, has a bargain for just about everyone.

Miss Alabama 2000
Samford junior Jana Anderson will represent Alabama in the Miss America Pageant this fall. She is Samford's fifth Miss Alabama over the past seven years.

Major Gift to Athletics
Gene Bluemly has been a believer in Samford University since student days, when he played football under legendary coach Bobby Bowden. Highly successful in the insurance business, Bluemly recently made the largest gift in history to Samford athletics.
