BONNIE MASON ATCHISON is director of the South Shelby Chamber of Commerce. She received the 2000 Quality of Life Award from the Vignette Club of Columbiana.

JERRY BUTLER is pastor of South Sauty Baptist Church in Marshall County. He lives in Boaz.

MARGARET LITTLE is director of guidance, Homewood City Schools.

MERRY JANE BROWN BRUNSON teaches vocational education/special needs at Statesboro (Ga.) High School. She holds a master's degree from Augusta University and is related vocational instruction-certified through Georgia Southern University.

NOEL DON MCBRAYER of Florence won three gold medals for indoor badminton in the 2000 Alabama Senior Olympics, two silver medals in the 2000 Kentucky Senior Olympics and a bronze medal in the 1999 national Senior Olympics. Also this year, he received a National Alumni Service Award from the University of North Alabama. He earned a master's degree at UNA, where he is associate professor of physical education. He learned to play indoor badminton in Seibert Hall under Coach J.T. HAYWOOD

CARROLL RYALS of Madison, Fla., is working on a master's degree at Nova University. She teaches at Lee Junior High.

MAGGIE WILSON of Leeds is listed in the 2000­01 edition of Who's Who of American Women and was nominated for Woman of the Year by Business and Professional Women.

JANET TURNER ATKINS is owner and president, Cherokee Metal Abrasives, Oneonta.

ROSANNE GODSEY is president of the Pilot Club in Carrollton, Ga.

BENNIE CAROL REID earned a doctor of education degree in vocational and adult education at Auburn University in 1998. She is coordinator for the Alabama Cooperative Extension System's Blount County office in Oneonta.

LAIRD JACKSON SHARPE is chief of police in Fairfield.

JEFFREY D. STAMPER was recently appointed to serve as a special justice of the Supreme Court of Kentucky. He lives in Louisville, Ky.

GEORGE P. FORD was inducted into the American College of Trial Lawyers during the recent annual meeting of the college in Washington, D.C. He is a partner in the firm of Ford & Howard, P.C., Gadsden.

CAROL JOYCE BYRD retired after a career as a guidance counselor with the Birmingham Board of Education.

WILLIAM TALMADGE CHASTAIN, Jr., of Pinson works with occupational diploma students at Shades Valley High School.

CATHERINE MITCHELL DAVIS teaches algebra at Middle Georgia College, Cochran, Ga.

CHARLES WADE GILLILAND is minister of seniors and singles at First Baptist Church, Buford, Ga.

LINDA and DAVEY MORTON M.S.Ed. of Corner retired after 31 years teaching at Corner High School.

ELIZABETH MATTHEWS PLOTT is a humane officer for the Mobile (Ala.) Society for Prevention and Cruelty to Animals.

DAN SMALLEY of Guntersville was elected chairman, board of directors, GoldKist, Inc., in October.

BRADLEY DENNIS, M.D., is chief medical officer, Brookwood Medical Center, Birmingham.

RUTH REED ELLIS M.S.E. '80 teaches first grade at Hewitt-Trussville Elementary School in Birmingham.

STEPHEN FOLMAR is minister of music at Memorial Presbyterian Church, Montgomery. He and his wife, Karyn, and son, Christian, have released a CD of jazz favorites. Their daughter, Carrie Nell, is a Samford sophomore.

ALBERT M. HARTLEY of Jasper retired from teaching. He continues to serve as a pastor.

RUSSELL KENT PAUL was recently elected to the Georgia state senate. He is owner of I Squared marketing agency in Atlanta, Ga.

CLAUDIA RAWLS PORTER was chair of Vestavia Hills 50th anniversary celebration during 2000 and was named Vestavia Hills 1999 Citizen of the Year.

JUDY RENFROE was named winner of the 2000 Paul Broun Award for Industry Partnership by the Georgia Department of Industry, Trade and Tourism. She is president and CEO of the Cobb County Convention and Visitors Bureau. She is on the board of the Georgia Association of Convention and Visitors Bureaus, and has held leadership posts with national travel-related associations.

MARY WADE ENDSLEY WRIGHT of Ringgold, Ga., teaches piano in Atlanta and Rome, Ga.

DIANE JENKINS ABBOTT of Powder Springs, Ga., teaches high school special education and pre-algebra.

BEVERLY TURNER ELLINGTON, M.D., of Phelps, N.Y., visited Cuba this fall as part of a pediatric group involved in the People to People Ambassador program. She is a pediatrician in Geneva, N.Y.
