Kay Haviland Freilich is a researcher, author, lecturer, and volunteer who specializes in colonial Pennsylvania and Quaker genealogy. Currently a BCG trustee, she served as BCG president from 2003 to 2005 and as director and secretary of the Federation of Genealogical Societies and secretary for the Genealogical Society of Pennsylvania.

She wrote the NGS publication Research in Pennsylvania, co-authored three family histories and has written articles for several genealogical publications. Since 1995 she has lectured at national, regional, and local conferences on such topics as Pennsylvania, Quaker genealogy, writing a family history, and methodology. Her educational background includes a B.S. degree in biology from Juniata College in Huntingdon, Pennsylvania, NIGR, and four courses at IGHR.
