Gladys Friedman Paulin is a professional genealogist specializing in urban research, immigration, naturalization,
and Jewish genealogy. She is the editor of OnBoard, the Newsletter for the Board for Certification of Genealogists.
She has previously served in many positions of responsibility in the genealogical community including: director and
treasurer of the Central Florida Genealogical Society, vice president of the Genealogical Speakers Guild, president
of the Jewish Genealogical Society of Greater Orlando, director of the International Association of Jewish Genealogical
Societies, and director-at-large for the National Institute on Genealogy Alumni Association. She is a regular speaker
to community groups, genealogical societies, national and state genealogical conferences. She is also a member of the
Association of Professional Genealogists and its Florida chapter, the Jewish Genealogical Society, Inc. (New York),
and a life member of the National Genealogical Society. She has written articles and book reviews for several genealogical
periodicals and publishes a quarterly surname newsletter, circulation 650+ in 14 countries.
Gladys received her B.S. from Cornell
University, Ithaca, NY. She is a graduate of NIGR and, has taken courses four and six at IGHR.
In her earlier life she worked as a corporate executive and retired as vice president of compensation and
administration from Inter-Continental Hotels Corporation.
Following her retirement she was an independent consultant to various multi-national corporations,
advising them on their compensation and benefit needs.
