VMC Scholarship for Outstanding Candidates Paper Awarded

The 2007 Vulcan Materials Co. Scholarship Award for Outstanding Candidates Paper was awarded in September to new Journal member J. Gabriel Carpenter.   Gabe's paper was selected for the award by a committee of Cumberland faculty from among the top scoring papers in the Journal's 2007 Summer Writing Program.  The paper will be published in issue 31:2 of the American Journal of Trial Advocacy.  The Journal thanks Vulcan Materials Co. for its generosity and John Floyd ('88) for arranging the award.

The 2007 Writing Program involved the assignment of dual topics to the candidates, which allowed the editorial board to select a second outstanding paper for publication.  The paper chosen was written by new member Katherine Ellis.
