IDIS
The Iowa Drug Information Service is available on pc workstation
12; however, the database is current only through Dec 2004. After this
date, the DIC no longer receives updates.
International Pharmaceutical
Abstracts
The International Pharmaceutical Abstracts
(IPA) is now available on any pc workstation via the Internet (see Internet
Databases). IPA may also be accessed off campus using one's Groupwise
id and password.
Facts
and Comparisons
Facts and Comparisons is the electronic
version of the loose-leaf Drug Facts & Comparisons; however, the Internet
version has more versatility than the print version. A link is also available
from the Pharmacy Web Resources Web page. The user must log in with their Groupwise
ID/password.
SPSS
SPSS exists only on pc workstations

Scanner
Computer work station 23 has a scanner to
include optical character reader (OCR) capability. The scanner is a Hewlett
Packard 8200 model and has a separate OCR software function.
Micromedex
This is an Internet program on the pharmacy
web resources page and provides drug monograph information, plus other pertinent
information.
Clinical
Pharmacology
The Clinical Pharmacology program
is now available via the Internet. This program has drug monographs,
interaction, drug identification, patient education, clinical reports,
adverse reactions, IV compatibility, and other features. A link is also
available from the Pharmacy Web Resources Web page. The user must
log in with their Groupwise ID/password.
MD
Consult
The DIC subscribes to the MD Consult,
Core Collection which assists in answering clinical questions and recent
developments by integrating 40 respected medical reference books; over
50 medical journals; a comprehensive drug information database; more than
1,000 clinical practice guidelines; over 3,500 customizable patient education
handouts. See the DIC staff for user id and password. A link is also available
