Our average entering grade point average is 3.4. Applicants need a 3.0 on a 4.0 scale to be considered competitive for admission.6. How many pharmacy students are admitted as transfer students from other schools?
Approximately 60% of students in our entering class are transfer students, and roughly 50% are from out-of-state.7. I already have a BA/BS degree. How does that affect my application?
Applicants holding a BA or BS degree, or who will be receiving a BA or BS degree prior to starting pharmacy school, and who have completed all mathematics and science requirements in the Pre-Pharmacy Curriculum shall only be required to satisfy the speech and statistics requirements. The ACT/SAT requirement is also waived.8. Is the PCAT required?
YES9. Do I need eight (8) credit hours of Anatomy and Physiology?
YES. This can be either A&P I + A&P II or Human Anatomy + Human Physiology
10. If I placed directly into Calculus do I need to go back and take Pre-Cal
or College Algebra? NO. If you have already taken Calculus or Business Cal you do not need to go
back and take a lower level Pre-Cal or College Algebra.
11. How do you calculate the Overall GPA?
For the Overall GPA we use the Undergraduate Cumulative GPA as reported by PharmCAS.
12. How do you calculate the Math/Science GPA?
For the Math/Science GPA we only use those Math and Science courses listed in our pre-requisite list. If a Math of Science course from our pre-requisite list has been repeated we will only use the highest grade received for this calculation.
13. Where are clinical sites available for pharmacy students to do externship/clerkship rotations?
In a variety of hospitals in the Birmingham, Alabama area, as well as sites in Tennessee, Oregon, Montana, Kentucky, England, Japan, and South Korea.
