ONLINE ADMISSION APPLICATION PROCEDURES
To make application to the McWhorter School of Pharmacy (MSOP), the
applicant must complete the national on-line application at PharmCAS (www.PharmCAS.org).
This application allows the applicant to apply to approximately fifty pharmacy
schools
throughout the nation. Official transcripts and PCAT scores are sent to PharmCAS.
This information is then sent to every pharmacy school the applicant designates.
MSOP details at PharmCAS
MSOP now requires all applicants to submit the required
letters of recommendation through PharmCAS.
- One (1) academic letter of recommendation
is required and must be completed by a college level Math or Science
Professor. If
your college pre-health committee prepares a composite/collective reference,
you must submit that reference along with the PharmCAS printable academic
form to PharmCAS.
- One (1) non-academic letter of recommendation is also required.
It is preferred that this letter be completed by a pharmacist who has supervised
you in a
work setting. If you do not have pharmacy experience, then the non-academic
letter of recommendation may be completed by anyone who has recently supervised
you in a work setting.
SUPPLEMENTAL APPLICATION
Must be completed online at http://www.applyweb.com/apply/samfordp
MSOP supplemental application and $50.00
non-refundable fee

REQUIRED TEST SCORES
- ACT or SAT: A copy of the ACT or SAT score must be sent
directly to the MSOP Office
of Admission and NOT PharmCAS. The ACT or SAT score
must be received by the MSOP office of admission on or before the February
1st application
and information deadline. This can be in the form of a copy of the score
report mailed to the student or a copy of the high school transcript or
college
transcript. Not all college transcripts list the ACT or SAT score. The MSOP
office of admission does not receive the official transcripts that you submitted
to PharmCAS.
Waiver
of the ACT/SAT is granted to the applicant who has earned a prior
B.S. or B.A. degree, is over thirty years of age, or if English is the applicant’s
second language.
- PCAT: PCAT Registration (Score
Code for PharmCAS - 104)
Applicants MUST provide their Social Security Number on both the PharmCAS
application and the PCAT registration form. This is necessary to match
the correct PCAT scores with the appropriate PharmCAS application.
DO NOT HAVE YOUR PCAT SCORE SENT TO SAMFORD UNIVERSITY!
