Creative Writing With a Focus On Fiction

All Sessions
Mondays, 6-8pm, August 20-Oct 8th (*No class on Labor Day, September 3)
Instructor: K.B. Hoyle

Storytelling is a craft unto itself, and in this course, students will learn the difference between good writing and good storytelling and how to do both well—to become disciplined, “whole-brained” writers. With a focus on fiction, this creative writing course will have lessons on the essentials of story craft, including outlining, story development, character development, world building, authorial voice, wordsmithing, and more. This will be a class for the aspiring author, or anyone interested in how to tell better stories. Instructor feedback will be provided on student work, and each class will review the previous week’s material before moving on to a new lesson. Minimum age 18.
