Joanna Bradley earned her undergraduate degree in Spanish and communications at Mars Hill University, her MA in Comunicación Social at La Javeriana University, Bogota, Colombia, and her PhD in foreign language education and applied linguistics at the University of Texas at Austin.

She came to Samford from East Carolina University, where she served as coordinator of lower division Spanish and taught both Spanish language and linguistics for 11 years. Prior to that appointment, she taught at Winston Salem State University, Baylor University and Mary Hardin-Baylor University, leading student groups in life-changing study abroad experiences.

Bradley and her husband, Don, enjoy anything related to music, especially if it involves their talented daughters, Julia and Erica.
