Samford University Geography Department chair Eric Fournier served as a delegate to a specialist meeting on "Spatial Thinking Across the Curriculum" at the University of California, Santa Barbara Dec. 10-11.
The meeting, hosted by the university's Center for Spatial Studies, included delegates from many of the nation’s top universities. Their work supported the center’s mission to facilitate the integration of spatial thinking into processes for learning and discovery in the natural, social, and behavioral sciences, to promote excellence in engineering and applied sciences, and to enhance creativity in the arts and humanities.Fournier’s responsibilities at the meeting included moderating a breakout session on “Framing an Undergraduate Course Syllabi and/or Program Curriculum.
