Samford President Andrew Westmoreland, in his Nov. 26 “Monday Mission” E-mail, noted that political science professor Marissa Grayson chaired the American Society for Suicide Prevention’s annual “Walk Out of Darkness” in Birmingham Nov. 4.
“More than 1,600 people participated in the event, raising almost $140,000 for suicide prevention and—more importantly—sending a message of hope,” Westmoreland wrote. “The world is better because Samford people care about the people around them.”Samford is a leading Christian university offering undergraduate programs grounded in the liberal arts with an array of nationally recognized graduate and professional schools.
