The American Debate Association has ranked Samford University’s debate team tenth in the nation overall, and fifth in the nation for its junior varsity team.

Communication Studies professor and Director of Debate Ryan Galloway said the team’s recruiting class this year is part of its current success and a good reason to hope for more. “We are pleased that Samford has such a strong debate reputation and has such bright prospects for the future,” he said.
