Samford History/English alumnus Drew Pomeroy '11 has been nominated for a Pushcart Prize, one of the most prestigious literary awards in the nation. The editors of The Louisville Review nominated his poem, "A Place to Sleep."
From Samford, Pomeroy went on to earn an M.F.A. degree in poetry at Spalding University. The Selma, Ala., native now lives in Louisville, Ky., where he serves on the poetry staff of the Winter Tangerine Review.
Pomeroy is the second Samford alumnus to be nominated for Pushcart Prize. In 2012 Brit Blalock '08 was nominated for her poem, "Epigraph for this Poem."
