Preston Hite, Associate Professor, earned his Bachelor of Science (1999) degree and his Master's in Architecture (2001) degree from Georgia Institute of Technology and is a Registered Architect. Since 1999, he has practiced in a variety of settings, including traditional design practice, as an owner of a design-build firm, and, most recently, as a preconstruction coordinator for a large construction company. His project experience ranges from small residential additions up to new construction of major hospitals. Included within his project experiences, his projects have won four AIA design awards. His first teaching experience came in 2008, when he taught an architectural theory course at the Alabama School of Fine Arts. In 2009, he taught visual arts, art history, and music at the Tianjin International School in China. He first taught as an Adjunct Instructor at Samford in 2010, teaching design studios courses. Preston is an active member of the American Institute of Architects.
