Circuit Judge Bob Bailey, Family Court Division, 15th Judicial Circuit in Montgomery, Alabama, retired in January 2021 after nine years on the bench.

Gary Smith is chairman of the Business Council of Alabama (BCA). 

1981

Hon. Charlie Crist was reelected to the U.S. House of Representatives, representing the 13th Congressional District of Florida. 

1983

Forrest Latta was named to the Alabama Board of Bar Examiners, a seven-member board that serves the Alabama Supreme Court and oversees policy and procedures for admission to the Alabama State Bar.   

1984

LaBella Alvis McCallum joined McCallum, Hoaglund and McCallum as a partner in Birmingham, Alabama.

Lindsey Allison was reelected to an eighth term on the Shelby County Commission (Alabama).  

Frank Woodson is moving to the new Mobile, Alabama, office of the Beasley Allen Law Firm. 

Hon. Scott Donaldson retired from the Alabama Court of Civil Appeals as chief judge of the Judiciary Court and opened a private practice in Tuscaloosa, Alabama.  

1986

1987

Hon. Daniel Sleet was reelected to the Florida District Court of Appeals. 

Hon. William Thompson was reelected to the Alabama Court of Civil Appeals.   

Hon. Evan Jenkins was selected to serve as the chief justice for the Supreme Court of Appeals of West Virginia for the year 2021. 

1988 

Rosalie Joy retired after a 30-year career as a public defender. She joined the National Legal Aid & Defender Association as the vice president of Defender Legal Services and chief of Integrated Programs in Washington, D.C. 

Todd Carlisle is serving a three-year term as vice-chair for the Samford University Board of Overseers.  

1989 

Christopher Todd Roper was invested as a district court judge for Judicial District 15B in Pittsboro, North Carolina.  

Rhonda Chambers is an appellate attorney with Marsh, Rickard & Bryan PC in Birmingham, Alabama.  

1990

Robert B. Aderholt was reelected to the U.S. House of Representatives, representing the 4th Congressional District of Alabama.  

William R. Chambers Jr. was named first assistant U.S. attorney for the Northern District of Alabama.

Charles E. Atchley Jr. was confirmed to the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Tennessee.

John R. Burhman was elected to the Duke University Estate Planning Council. This Estate Planning Council is in its 42nd year of existence and customarily sponsors a two-day seminar at the Duke University Law School in each October.
