Amelia participates in Air Force ROTC and is also a member of Arnold Air Society, a cadet-run organization that works with the Air Force Association to train cadets and serve the community. Additionally, she is a member of AFROTC’s Color Guard. She is minoring in Computer Science and hopes to commission as a Cyber Officer for the Air Force. Over spring break Amelia was one of three AFROTC cadets to attend the 58th Academy Assembly at the United States Air Force Academy on the subject of cyberwar. In AFROTC, she has received awards for both leadership and academic achievement including the Veterans of Foreign Wars Award, AFROTC Achievement Award, and Academic Honors. Since March 2016, Amelia has worked as an Assistant to the Technology Specialist for the Brock School of Business, after previously working as a student worker in the Office of Advancement. Last summer, Amelia interned with Fixed Point Foundation, an organization that prepares individuals to spread the Gospel in the secular world. For thirteen weeks she worked with Fixed Point at their location in the south of France, attending the Fixed Point Institute for Applied Apologetics. At Samford, Amelia is on the leadership team for the student ministry Reformed University Fellowship. For the past two years she has participated in the Independent Ladies Step Sing show, captained several intramural teams, and participated in Samford Gives Back. Amelia has taken multiple mission trips, traveling abroad to Zimbabwe, Papua New Guinea, and France, as well as a domestic mission trip to Portland, Maine. In high school, she was valedictorian, inducted as a member of Eta Sigma Alpha National Homeschool Honor Society, and earned a letter of commendation from the National Merit Scholars Program. In the fall, Amelia will be studying abroad with Samford in London, England.
