During her time at Samford, Mackenzie has become involved in many facets of life on campus. She currently serves as a member of the University Fellows Recruitment Council, and has participated on the freshman Ethics Bowl team. Previously, Mackenzie was inducted into Alpha Lambda Delta, the freshman honor society, and she was recently inducted into the Phi Kappa Phi honor society. So far, she has been named to the Dean’s List every semester that she has been at Samford. Mackenzie has also immersed herself in the spiritual life on campus, participating in a Home Group each week her freshman year and facilitating one her sophomore year. She also serves as an Ambassador for Howard College of Arts and Sciences. Currently, she is employed as a Student Assistant at the Circulation Desk in the Samford Library, and she also works as a Student Assistant in the University Fellows Office. During the past two summers, Mackenzie has worked as a nanny for a family with two junior high and high school girls, which she will also be doing this summer. In the future, she plans to attend graduate school to study history and the interactions between cultures. Eventually Mackenzie hopes to pursue a career as an author, as a professor at a university, or in museum studies.
