From the Dean
Welcome to Samford University’s Orlean Beeson School of Education! For more than 100 years, Orlean Beeson School of Education’s mission has been to enrich the community and empower students to educate, lead and serve.
We strive to ensure that our academic programs support our student’s personal and professional growth over an entire career continuum. We offer a broad range of opportunities including programs in Teacher Education, Human Development and Family Life Education, Curriculum and Instruction, and Educational Leadership. We are home to 14 programs of study, ten of which are recognized nationally by 12 Specialized Professional Associations. These rigorous programs are designed to help students achieve academically, emotionally, spiritually, socially and professionally; developing the knowledge, skills, and professional dispositions necessary to “hit the ground running” as they enter the workforce in their selected field.
All members of our school community strive to be the best in teaching, research and service in order to prepare outstanding, highly sought-after graduates. Among them are award-winning experts in their fields.
For the past three years, 100% of our graduates have been employed or enrolled in graduate school within 3 months of graduation. We also boast a 100% pass rate for our candidates on both the Praxis Tests and the edTPA.
I invite you to explore our website and learn more about our programs. We are here to answer any questions you may have. Please contact us to learn more, and know that we are committed our mission of enriching the community and empowering students to educate, lead and serve.
