Project Manager for Research, Analytics, and Assessment

Duties

The Project Manager (PM) will report to the Associate Provost for Assessment and Accreditation and work closely with all academic and functional units of Samford University. The PM will manage all projects within the Office of Institutional Research and Assessment in consultation with the Associate Provost. Under general direction, the PM performs a wide variety of administrative support functions that may be complex, sensitive and confidential; handles requests using discretion and applies knowledge of relevant policies and procedures; assists in organizing work, training and overseeing office operations; and performs related duties as assigned.

Duties include:

  • Plans, creates, executes, and tracks complex projects to achieve institutional research and assessment goals
  • Works closely with upper management to ensure project scope and direction is on schedule
  • Assists in developing departmental plans, goals, objectives, policies and procedures
  • Assists in data visualization projects, editing and assembly of reports and final products for Institutional Research and Analytics
  • Inputs and manages assessment and accreditation data using Taskstream
  • Assists in preparing and filing all necessary documentation of relevant accreditation standards as well as federal and state regulations that affect higher education
  • Collaborates and communicates with all relevant departments to collect and file all necessary assessment, accreditation and compliance information
  • Computes and analyzes data using Microsoft products, SPSS, SAS or other relevant software
  • Compiles reports that describe and interpret findings of analyses
  • Participates in required training and education programs related to institutional research, assessment, accreditation and compliance
  • Serves as administrative assistant to the Associate Provost for Assessment and Accreditation
  • Maintains the Office of Institutional Research and Assessment budget records ensuring that the income and expenditures are recorded appropriately and the budget is not overspent
  • Tracks staff expenditures for supplies, travel, and other expenses and provides monthly budgetary reports to the Associate Provost for Assessment and Accreditation
  • Prepares newsletters and reports by formatting content and graphics
  • Assists in committee work, including committee attendance
  • Records, types, and distributes minutes for department meetings
  • Assists in the acquisition of academic and non-academic materials from all academic and functional units of the university and outside vendors
  • Performs other duties as assigned by the Associate Provost for Assessment and Accreditation

Required Qualifications

  • A Bachelor's degree in Business Administration or an equivalent combination of education and relevant experience
  • Minimum of 2 years' successful database management, basic data analysis, project management and written report generation

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience using Argos, Banner, Power BI, SPSS, Tableau
