The part-time (20-30 hours/week) Samford in London Program Administrator requires an experienced academic administrator with oversight for Samford's academic program in London, liaising with local lecturers and faculty.  Approximately 150 Samford students study in London during four different academic terms.  Additionally, the Program Administrator serves as the authorized immigration officer for UKVI and ensures program compliance for Tier 4 visas.  The Program Administrator provides academic and cultural support to students, faculty, and staff and assists in the implementation of long-term strategic and programmatic goals as established by the Global Engagement Office.  Required:  Residency in London

Duties include:

Administrative:

  • Serve as Samford's authorized immigration officer in adherence with UKVI policies; maintain appropriate files and compliance
  • Issue CAS to London Resident Assistants and internship participants
  • Keep up-to-date with UK legislation regarding Study Abroad
  • Work with Daniel House Residence Director in coordinating and implementing comprehensive orientation programs for students and faculty
  • Assist the Daniel House Residence Director with cultural issues in working with various constituents
  • Respond to student and faculty queries regarding academics

Academic:

  • Facilitate offering of courses under the direction of the Global Engagement Office
  • Recruit, select, liaise, and assess the London-based adjunct professors in consultation with the Global Engagement Office
  • Coordinate with the scheduling of the facility with academic lecturers in consultation with the Daniel House Residence Director
  • Facilitate internship program in partnership with CAPA; collect attendance and timesheets for students with internships
  • Liaise between faculty and students and provide academic and cultural support
  • Conduct post-course assessments
  • Arrange program-related travel for academic courses
  • Other duties as assigned
Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree
  • At least four years' relevant work experience
  • Two years' work experience in the field of education abroad

  • Must be self-motivated and able to produce quality work with little supervision
  • Ability to ascend/descend stairs on a regular basis

  • Ability to respond to emergency situations in a calm manner
  • Ability to work occasional evenings and weekends
Preferred Qualifications
  • Master's degree (or equivalent qualification for teaching undergraduate courses)
