Originally from San Diego, California, Ashe attended the University of Arizona in Tucson, Arizona. Following a four-year internship-based training in Athletic Training and completion of a Bachelor’s of Science in Physiology, Ashe obtained certification in Athletic Training. While beginning a Master’s of Education in Sports Administration, Ashe was additionally certified as a strength and conditioning specialist and worked as the Athletic Trainer for baseball and volleyball where she attended at Northwestern State University of Louisiana. Following graduation with her M.Ed., she moved to Birmingham, Alabama to take a position as assistant athletic trainer in charge of volleyball, women’s basketball and tennis. In 2006, she took a position as recruiting coordinator for Champion Sports Medicine and athletic trainer for Calera High School and the Alabama Ballet. In 2012, she took a position as Clinical Education Coordinator and Instructor for the Athletic Training Education Program at Samford University. While teaching she maintains her work with the Alabama Ballet and is now the Simulation Lab Coordinator for the College of Health Sciences. She completed her doctoral degree in Curriculum and Instruction from Liberty University in 2020. Successfully defending her dissertation on “Attitudes of Health Profession Faculty Involved in a Simulation-Based Interprofessional Education Experience." She and her husband, Chris, have three children.
