A new Miss Samford University will be crowned Friday (Nov. 10). The public is invited to the 7 p.m. pageant in Wright Center Concert Hall.
Nine contestants will compete in lifestyle and fitness, talent, evening wear and on-stage question categories. Personal interviews will be held earlier in the day.
"All That Jazz" is the theme of the pageant, which will feature entertainment by a live jazz band. Emcees are Samford junior Ricky Thrash of Hogansville, Ga., and Miss Alabama 2006 Melinda Toole, who was last year's Miss Samford.
Proceeds support Miss Samford scholarships. Pageant co-directors are Emily Goette of Chattanooga, Tenn., and Niki Chapman of Brentwood, Tenn.
