Samford University president-elect Dr. Andrew Westmoreland will lead a mini-conference on pastoral leadership at Samford Monday, May 8.

The half-day event will feature a workshop centered on Dr. Westmoreland's book, Leading by Design, published by Baxter Press. The book offers insights about the way Jesus led 12 types of people and fresh perspectives on leadership styles.

Westmoreland, currently president of Ouachita Baptist University in Arkansas, will become president of Samford in June.

Pre-registration for the event includes ministers and staff members from a variety of denominations.

The schedule begins with a worship service in Andrew Gerow Hodges Chapel at 8:15 a.m., followed by presentations by Dr. Westmoreland. The event concludes with a noon reception.

The conference is sponsored by Samford's Resource Center for Pastoral Excellence.
