Samford Hosts Comedian Chonda Pierce in October

Samford University's Leslie Stephen Wright Fine Arts Center will host comedian Chonda Pierce as part of her Live. Love. Laugh. tour on Friday, Oct. 5 at 7 p.m.
Tickets for this performance are on sale now and may be purchased in person at the Samford Arts Box Office, by phone at (205) 726-2853 or online at http://www.samford.edu/wrightcenter. Box Office hours are Monday-Friday from 9a.m.-5p.m. and one hour prior to performances. General Admission tickets are $22 and Gold Circle Reserved seating is $27. Groups of 10 or more may purchase General Admission tickets for $17.
Chonda Pierce, known as the "Queen of Clean," is the author of a half-dozen best-selling books and recently was the winner of the Comedian of the Year Visionary Award. Her DVDs are consistently strong sellers, both on tour and at retail, according to Jaime Davidson, assistant director of Samford's Wright Center. Pierce has seven DVDs that have been certified gold, four platinum certifications for DVD sales over 100,000 units, five Emmy nominations. She also appeared in several movies released in 2011.
Her latest comedy DVD, I'm Kind of a Big Deal, was released on April 10. This video continues to highlight her crazy Southern antics, which have been labeled as "blue collar on estrogen."
