Samford University’s Brock School of Business announced the 2016 Outstanding Faculty Awards at its 52nd Annual Scholarships and Awards Ceremony April 1. In addition to recognizing faculty and alumni, the school awarded undergraduate student and graduate scholarships totaling more than $105,000.  

Junior Pete Petro received an award for the highest GPA in the junior class.

“We appreciate the outstanding donor support we receive annually that enables us to award scholarships to our deserving students,” said Howard Finch, dean of  Brock School of Business.

The faculty of Brock School Business also were recognized for their outstanding contributions to the school. These awardees were nominated and chosen by their peers.  

William “Bill” Belski, associate professor of accounting, received the Excellence in Undergraduate Teaching Award, which recognizes a full-time business school faculty member for outstanding achievements, innovation and performance in teaching at the undergraduate level.

Archie Lockamy III, the Margaret Gage Bush Professor of Business, received the Excellence in Graduate Teaching Award, which recognizes a full-time business school faculty member for outstanding achievements, innovation and performance in teaching at the graduate level.

Thomas W. Woolley, professor of quantitative analysis, received the Outstanding Scholarship Award, which recognizes a full-time business school faculty member for outstanding achievements in research and scholarship. 

Franz Lohrke, Brock Family Endowed Chair in Entrepreneurship, received the Distinguished Service Award, which recognizes a full-time faculty business member for outstanding service rendered to the school, the university, the academic community and the public.

Finch added, “Our faculty members continuously foster student success, service to the university and community as well as show their dedication to their research and scholarship.”
