Over the course of her high school career, Kaitlynn graduated as the salutatorian of her class at Grace Baptist Academy as well as participated in a number of activities including the National Honor Society, Beta Club, student body and class governments, choir, and varsity soccer. Kaitlynn has also been involved in the children’s ministry at her local church by helping with the Children’s Church and nursery. One of the highlights of high school was being able to work with children on a mission trip to Costa Rica. During her senior year, Kaitlynn volunteered at the Tennessee Aquarium and created a conservation project to help take care of and raise awareness for an imperiled fish species only found in Tennessee. This past summer Kaitlynn also interned at the Chattanooga Coca-Cola Bottling Company United where she learned the inner workings of an office and the importance of public relations. While attending Samford, Kaitlynn plans to study biology and marine science in the hopes of one day using her degrees to help protect and save animals as well as making the world a healthier place.
