Kim Davey, PhD, MBA, MA, is an associate professor and director of the undergraduate public health program in the School of Public Health at Samford University in Birmingham, Alabama. 

Davey has extensive teaching experience at both the undergraduate and graduate levels.  At the undergraduate level, she has taught health system, health policy, leadership, management, marketing, and strategy courses.  At the graduate level, she has taught health system, health policy, strategy, leadership, management, and comparative health systems courses. A hallmark of Davey’s teaching is the extensive interdisciplinary and interprofessional nature of her classes and teaching experiences.  At Samford, she has taught courses across four schools (School of Public Health, Ida Moffett School of Nursing, McWhorter School of Pharmacy, and Cumberland School of Law), eight departments and nine programs. Prior to joining Samford, Davey served as a faculty member in the Department of Family, Community and Health Systems at the University of Alabama at Birmingham's School of Nursing.

Recently, she co-authored her first textbook the Essentials of Managing Public Health Organizations.  Additionally, she will be co-authoring the 10th edition of Sultz and Young’s Health Care USA, a leading health systems textbook in the U.S.  She has also contributed to Novick & Morrow’s Public Health Administration, a premier textbook for public health administrators and graduate programs.
